Space-Time Block Coded Joint Transmit/Receive Diversity in a Frequency-Nonselective Rayleigh Fading Channel

چکیده
Antenna diversity is an effective technique for improving the transmission performance in a multi-path fading channel. Recently, transmit diversity has been attracting much attention since it can alleviate the complexity problem of the mobile terminals. Joint transmit diversity/receive diversity achieves a much improved transmission performance. In this paper, we propose a new space-time block coding algorithm for joint transmit/receive diversity, which requires the channel state information (CSI) only at the transmitter side. Unlike the conventional spacetime transmit diversity (STTD), the space-time block coded joint transmit/receive diversity (STBC-JTRD) can use arbitrary number of transmit antennas, while the number of receive antennas is limited to 4. STBCJTRD achieves a larger diversity gain than joint STTD/receive antenna diversity. The bit error rate (BER) analysis in a frequency-nonselective Rayleigh fading channel is presented. The BER performance is evaluated and is confirmed by the computer simulation. key words: antenna diversity, space-time block coding, time-division duplex

Frequency-Domain Space-Time Block Coded-Joint Transmit/Receive Diversity for Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum Signal Transmission
Recently, we proposed space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive antenna diversity (STBC-JTRD) for narrow band transmission in a frequency-nonselective fading channel; it allows an arbitrary number of transmit antennas while limiting the number of receive antennas to 4. In this paper, we extend STBC-JTRD to the case of frequency-selective fading channels and propose frequency-domain STBC-JTR...

Abstract Antenna diversity is an effective technique for improving the transmission performance in a multi-path fading channel. Recently, we proposed the space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive antenna diversity (STBC-JTRD), which allows the use of an arbitrary number of transmit antennas without losing the transmission efficiency. However, in STBC-JTRD, the number of receive antennas is ...

Space-frequency block coded transmit diversity (SFBC) is under intensive study to improve the transmission performance of multi-carrier transmission in a frequencyselective fading channel. However, in the conventional SFBC, the transmission efficiency degrades when more than 3 transmit antennas are used. Recently, we proposed a spacetime block coded-joint transmit/receive antenna diversity (STB...
متن کاملChannel estimation and interference suppression for space-time coded systems in frequency-selective fading channels
It is of great interest to provide high data rate services in wireless communication systems. In order to support such services, it is desirable to extend space-time (ST) coding, originally proposed for known, frequency-nonselective fading channels, to unknown, multipath channels. In this paper, we consider the problem of interference suppression for wireless TDMA (time division multiple access...

This work explores the performances of Space-Time and Space Frequency Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with simple two branches transmit diversity scheme. The combination of multiple-antenna and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) provides reliable communications over frequency selective fading channels. We focus on the application of space-time block codes ...
